Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Global Black Literatures in English

The University of California, Davis, Department of English invites applicants for the position of tenure-track assistant professor in global Black literatures in English of any historical period. Applicants should have research and teaching interests in one or more of the following: African diasporic, Caribbean, Black Atlantic, Afro-Latinx, Anglophone African, and/or hemispheric Black literatures. We welcome, but do not require, interests in any of the following areas: anti- colonialism, critical geographies, ecology, digital cultures, gender and sexuality studies, science and technology studies, transimperial and transcontinental frameworks. Work that challenges established boundaries, regions, periods, and methods within Anglophone literary studies is likewise welcome. Applicants should be able to teach a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate courses in the field. Ph.D. in English or a related field is required and must be in hand by September 1, 2022.
