The Caribbean Studies Association Newsletter is a monthly publication which is the main source of communication to the membership. Each month, there are regular columns by the President, Vice-President, The Program Chair, The Sexualities sub-editor, The Graduate Student Representative, the Language sub-editors in four languages – English, Spanish, French, and Papiamento and representation from the Virgin Islands.
The Member Highlight, Caribbean Scholarship and Game Changer Initiative are three specialised segments which appear every month to celebrate the works of scholars and practitioners in the field of Caribbean Studies from multilingual, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and multicultural perspectives.
Every other month there is a special featured column entitled “Your Commentary” in which we highlight commentary from the membership on their perspectives on matters reflecting the Greater Caribbean region – including Central America and the Caribbean coasts of Mexico and South America and extending to Northeast Brazil.
The Newsletter is published online to a captive audience in the African continent, the Caribbean and throughout the Diaspora, especially in the United States, Canada, and Europe via the ISSUU web portal and disseminated on the CSA website and across the CSA social media platforms – Facebook and Twitter.
Submissions are welcome from the Humanities and Education, the Social Sciences, and the Visual & Performing Arts based on the following criteria:
- Print Essays/Articles (500 words (maximum)
- Photo Essays (5 photos maximum)
- Sound Essays (3 sound files maximum)
