Flights between Jamaica and Haiti for the CSA Conference – Update

Dear CSA Colleagues,

For those of you going to the CSA Conference in Haiti this year from Jamaica, or via Jamaica, and have still not booked your ticket, we urge you to think seriously about taking a direct flight between Jamaica and Haiti. Haiti is one of Jamaica’s closest neighbours. As such for those in the Northern Caribbean it makes perfect sense to take a more direct route to Haiti. Additionally, for those flying to Haiti from the Eastern Caribbean islands such as Trinidad or Barbados, you may want to think about flying to Jamaica via Caribbean Airlines and then take Inter-Caribbean Airways to Haiti, making the journey a totally Caribbean experience.

Inter-Caribbean Airways is, for the purposes of CSA conference delegates traveling to Haiti from Jamaica, offering a special direct service to Haiti. The deal is that if 16 or more conference delegates are booked to travel on one of their planes traveling between Jamaica and Haiti, Inter-Caribbean Airways will re-route the plane such that it flies directly to Port Au Prince, Haiti from Kingston, Jamaica. Also they will ensure that the price of a round trip ticket is no more than US$614.95, including taxes.

For those who intend to take in the entire CSA conference, we recommend flying out of Jamaica on Sunday, June 5 and then returning on Sunday, June 12. (The conference this year runs for six days, starting from Monday June 6 and finishing on the evening of Saturday, June 11.)

If we do not get at least 16 CSA delegates on the suggested flights, (in this case –Sunday, June 5, Outbound and Sunday, June 12 Return), not only would we have to fly to Haiti via Providenciales , Turks and Caicos Islands, but the price will increase to US$654 at a minimum.
