When, in April 2018, we open the doors for a new WEFLA experience, we will be celebrating 20 years of a comprehensive and stimulating conference that has brought together academics from many parts of the world. We are proud to have provided, for so many years the ideal framework for the debate, the exchange of ideas and the sharing of the best professional practices.

Welcome to WEFLA 2018!

OBJECTIVE

To foster international cooperation in the field of foreign language teaching, communication and cultural issues, through the presentation of research findings and the discussion of professional experiences.

TOPICS: include (but are not confined to) the following areas:

  • Linguistic Studies
  • Translation and Interpretation
  • Literature
  • Teacher Training and Teacher Continuing Development
  • Foreign Language Pedagogy
  • Language, Education and Culture
  • Internationalization of Higher Education
  • CANADIAN STUDIES: Canada, managing social and cultural diversity. (See Call for the XII International Seminar on Canadian Studies)

 SUBMISSION DEADLINES

The Organizing Committee invites you to submit your proposal to the Conference in one of the following categories:

Papers (20 mns)
Keynotes (45 mns)
Workshops & Panel (1 h)
Posters and exhibitions.

FORMAT

Title in 15 words or less, capital letters.

Abstract:  in less than 250 words including problem, objective, methodology and results + key words.

Full paper: Papers presented will be submitted to a blind review process using standardized criteria by external readers for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings 6-10 pages.  (not mandatory to submit paper for publication). Typing: Arial 10 points, 1.5 space, margins: upper and bottom 2.5 cms. ; right and left, 3 cms. ; letter format, Word processor MSWord/OpenOffice. References following APA 2016, citation index.

DEADLINE:

Abstracts: February 15, 2018

Notification of acceptance: February 28, 2018

Full paper (for publication): March 15, 2018
