Senior Instructor I at Portland State University
The PSU Departments of Black Studies and Women, Gender, & Sexualty Studies invite applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Senior Instructor I to begin September 16, 2016. This position is a nine-month, renewable joint appointment; the teaching load includes 5 courses in one unit and 4 courses in the other (alternating this schedule between departments annually). The successful candidate will be a feminist educator specializing in Women’s Studies and either Black history or sociology with a focus on race relations and gender. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate introductory and upper-division courses in such areas as women of color in the US; Black Womanism/Feminism; the Black family; and race, class, gender & sexuality. This position reports to both departmental chairs.
