The Black Diversities virtual seminar will be held on 26th January 2024 at 10am EST / 11am AST organised by Dr. Alison McLetchie, South Carolina State University and Dr. Shelene Gomes, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus.
The aim is to present perspectives and experiences from the periphery of the Black Atlantic that critique monolithic ideas of what Blackness is, should be and has been constructed as, to continue presenting lived experiences that connect the personal, individual and structural. This is the second seminar that we are having, open to the public. Speakers include activists, graduate students and university professors working on culture, heritage and citizenship from and in the multicultural Caribbean, Nigeria, Europe and the USA.
