Assistant Professor of Global Studies
TITLE OF POSITION: Assistant Professor of Global Studies
STATUS: Full-time, 9-months, tenure-track
DEPARTMENT: College of Humanities and Sciences
QUALIFICATIONS:
Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) seeks a full-time, tenure-track faculty member with a strong commitment to general education and global studies. Candidates should have a record of excellence in teaching at the college level; strong scholarship in their field(s) of expertise; and demonstrated commitment to the pedagogies of active student learning. Preferred research specialties include emerging economies, global inequality, global environmental justice, science and technology studies, human rights, global migration, and/or global public health. Experience working in an interdisciplinary setting and a commitment to interdisciplinary research is a plus.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Candidate must have a research doctorate or a foreign equivalent to a U.S. doctoral degree in political science, international relations, sociology, anthropology, geography, public policy, or related field.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will teach in general education courses with international content and may have opportunities to help design new multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary courses in the undergraduate general education core curriculum as well as in new interdisciplinary majors under development. The standard teaching load is 12 credits per semester, with reductions for administrative roles.
