We are seeking a scholar whose research expertise examines 20th century Black Migrations. We encourage applications from candidates with a wide range of approaches to this topic, including approaches that center the perspective of migrant communities and cultures, global history, Black/Africana Studies, African history, Caribbean history, North American history, gender and sexuality studies, economic history, or histories of race or religion.
The ideal candidate will be expected to teach at all levels of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. An ability to integrate community work with African diaspora communities in central Ohio in teaching and research practices is also desirable.
Qualifications:
Candidates are expected to hold a PhD in Africana/Black Studies, History, or a related field.Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
