Please note:
- Since the hotel is providing the conference rate for the weekend before and the weekend after, we are encouraging conferees to extend their stays in either direction and use it as an opportunity to do some travel in Haiti. We will have local travel agencies information available for that purpose by the end of January.
- None of the American-based airlines offer discounts and conference promo codes any more so it will be a good idea to book early.
- We are working with Caribbean Airlines to see if we can arrange charter flights to Haiti from a couple points in the Caribbean as they did for CARIFESTA.

Tours to the Citadelle and Sans Souci Palace
Organizing excursions on June 5, 9 and 11
CITADELLE DAY TRIP – June 5, ALL DAY, approximately US$300 per person
(if you wish this to be overnight, it can be arranged.)
Visit to the Citadelle LaFerriere in Milot, near Cap Haitian
- The fortress which was started being built in 1805 is on the top of a 3000 foot mountain and is a World Heritage site
- Fly to Cap Haitian on the early flight, met by a driver and car
- Fully guided tours of the Citadelle and Sans Souci Palace
- Lunch at a community restaurant, Lakou Lakay
- Return to the airport for the last flight home or onto a beach hotel.
HISTORIC CITY TOUR – June 9, beginning at noon
- Champ de Mars, the Heroes’ square
- Overview of the history of this tiny fighting island
- Statues of the Heroes
- Seeing the damaged Catholic Cathedral, St. Trinity’s Episcopalian and the loss of its native art murals, plus the National Palace, and explaining the loss to the people
- Visit to the Historic Pantheon museum
DAY EXCURSION TO JACMEL – June 11, departing Port au Prince at 7:30am, approximately US30 per person (if at least 10 people sign up)
- A day long tour to Jacmel passing over the road with wonderful mountain ranges
- Jacmel is hopefully going to be a World Heritage site
- A very well-known artistic city with lots of history
- Walkabout tour of city of Jacmel
- Lunch at Cyvadier Plage bay – on the Caribbean sea
- Leave to return to PauP around 3pm
