National Policy for Creatives

The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, under the leadership of the Honourable Olivia “Babsy” Grange, OJ, CD, MP, has released the Green Paper for the National Policy for Culture, Entertainment and the Creative Economy 2025–2035. The policy presents a national framework aimed at strengthening Jamaica’s cultural sector, creative industries, entertainment ecosystem, and cultural heritage while positioning the creative economy as a significant driver of national development.

Delegates of the 50th Annual Caribbean Studies Association Conference are invited to review the document and participate in the ongoing national consultation process. The policy addresses key areas including cultural identity, heritage preservation, governance, intellectual property, creative industries development, innovation, digital technologies, trade, and the expansion of Brand Jamaica.

The Ministry welcomes feedback and recommendations from scholars, researchers, cultural practitioners, artists, and members of the public as it works toward finalizing this important national policy framework.
