Call for Co-Coordinator: CSA Voices

The Caribbean Studies Association (CSA) invites expressions of interest for the volunteer position of Co-Coordinator of CSA Voices.

About CSA Voices
CSA Voices is a monthly virtual series hosted by the Caribbean Studies Association. This platform showcases the rich and diverse scholarship of our members, with each session highlighting research from a specific linguistic region of the Caribbean. These 1-hour-and-30-minute virtual events aim to foster dialogue, engagement, and scholarly exchange across borders and disciplines.

Role of the Co-Coordinator
As a volunteer-run organization, CSA relies on the dedication of its members. The Co-Coordinator of CSA Voices will work closely with the current Co-Coordinator Dr. Oneil Hall and CSA President, Professor Donna Hope, to plan and execute the series.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Creating the CSA Voices schedule for the academic year.
  2. Soliciting presenters and session chairs – including collecting abstracts and biographies.
  3. Maintaining regular communication with presenters leading up to the events.
  4. Collaborating with the digital communications team to design promotional flyers.
  5. Ensuring the distribution of flyers via CSA email blasts, social media platforms, and the CSA Newsletter (in coordination with the Newsletter Editor).
  6. Co-hosting and supporting monthly sessions, including managing logistics and basic technical support.

Who Should Apply
This role is ideal for CSA members who are organized, proactive, and passionate about Caribbean scholarship. Experience in event coordination, digital outreach, or academic programming is a plus but not required.

To Apply
Please send a brief statement of interest (maximum 300 words) and a current CV to Professor Donna Hope at president@caribbeanstudiesassociation.org, and copy Dr. Oneil Hall at travel.grants@caribbeanstudiesassociation.org.
