Open-Rank Professor of Africana Studies

The Department of Africana Studies at Smith College invites applications for two positions: the first in Sociology or Anthropology and the second in Black Women’s Studies, to begin July 1, 2020. This is an open-rank search for tenure-track or tenured appointments depending on rank at the time of hire. Candidates with a strong foundation in 19th century Black history, diaspora/transnationalism, Anglophone-Caribbean studies, the Black family, labor/class, religion, the judicial system and incarceration, Black feminism or queer studies are encouraged to apply.
