Karen Flynn Karen Flynn is an Associate professor in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies, the Department of African-American Studies, and the Center for African Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She received her Ph.D. in Women’s Studies from York University, Toronto, Ontario, in 2003.
